Tori Spelling has made waves with the decision to file for divorce from her husband Dean McDermott after nearly two decades of marriage.

As per the reports of PEOPLE, the court documents stated that the Beverly Hills, 90210 former star, initiated divorce proceedings with the Canadian actor due to irreconcilable differences.

In the legal proceedings, their separation date was June 17, 2023.

Further, the documents revealed that Spelling asked the court to award her spousal support and cease McDermott's ability to receive the same support.

She also requested for the sole physical custody of their five minor children — Liam Aaron McDermott, 17, Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 12, Finn Davey, 11 and Beau Dean, 7,

Spelling suggested joint legal custody with visitation rights to be determined later for McDermott.

The documents did not mention whether the ex-partners had a prenuptial agreement, and Spelling noted that the details of their assets still need to be finalized.

The former couple married in Fiji on May 7, 2006, after they first met in 2005 on the set of the TV movie Mind Over Murder.

Spelling and McDermott rekindled their marriage on May 8, 2010, as their relationship faced challenges after McDermott publicly confessed his affair in 2014, which he later expressed “shame” over.
