Drew Barrymore announces Adam Sandler's new screenplay ‘Happy Gilmore’ sequel
Drew Barrymore has confirmed that 'Happy Gilmore 2' is in the works

Happy Gilmore sequel has been confirmed after 27 years since its original release as Drew Barrymore revealed that Adam Sandler had written a new screenplay for season 2.
In a teaser clip for her talk program, the Blended star said she had emailed her co-star from Fifty First Dates to inquire whether he had written a new screenplay.
Drew stated, “Are you kidding me? I want it. I need it and I stayed up last night with my daughter watching Billy Madison.”
She added, “And then I sent Sandler a video of that and then he sent me another video back and I'm waiting to see if he's confirming about the Happy Gilmore 2 script…”
“Because actor Christopher McDonald, who was Shooter McGavin, the bad guy. He was in the original film... he claims that Adam recently showed him a copy of the first draft to the sequel of Happy Gilmore,” Drew continued.
She shared, “And so I'm waiting to find out if Christopher McDonald is correct, which I'm not doubting him. I'm a proper journalist, I sent him a picture of all of us [at the show].”
In a March interview with Audacy's 92.3 The Fan, McDonald stated, "Maybe you should cut that out because I don't want to be a liar, but he did show me that, and I thought, 'Wow, that would be awesome.’ So it's in the works. Fans demand it, damn it."
