J.K. Rowling has recently ignited controversy by expressing her disapproval of trans rights supporters, including former Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

The acclaimed author of Harry Potter criticized the series star for using the “platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors” following the release of the long-awaited Cass report into gender treatment in the UK.

As per the Cass report, the health care providers and patients “have no good evidence on the long-term outcomes of interventions to manage gender-related distress.”

In response to the report, Rowling posted a series of tweets, as she stated, she was “bloody angry,” and claimed that “thousands are complicit, not just medics, but the celebrity mouthpieces, unquestioning media and cynical corporations.”

One commentator mentioned some well-known figures, including Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe, with whom Rowling has a long history and who have openly supported transgender rights.

“Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology … safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them,” the commenter wrote.

Rowling replied, “Not safe, I’m afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.”
