Zayn Malik disclosed that his newly released single, Alienated, featured on the forthcoming album Room Under Stairs, was actually penned six years ago.

The Pillow Talk singer took to his Instagram account to share love on garnering immense support over his latest release.

In his post, he also shared a short snippet along with a caption.

He penned the caption, “Wrote Alienated 6 years ago, it was the start of ROOM UNDER THE STAIRS…happy for it to finally be with you. Thank you for all the love & support x”

Wearing a suit and flaunting his duo-toned locks, the I Don’t Wanna Live Forever singer radiated his trademark charm in the monochrome short clip.

Soon after his fans learned that Malik had written the six years ago, they flocked to the comment section to express their amazement.

One Wrote, “noo so you’re saying we could’ve had this 6 years already?? i love it so much”

Another noted, “6 YEARS WITH THE SONG JUST EXISTING what a crime.”

Alienated is the second single released from the highly anticipated album, following the debut track What I Am.
