Jennifer Lopez has officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, ending their marriage after two years.
According to TMZ, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, on Tuesday, August 20, more than two years after the couple's July 2022 wedding.
J.Lo stated April 26, 2024 as the date of separation in his filing with the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
She is officially representing herself as she filed for divorce on her own without the assistance of a lawyer.
The traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia celebrated its second anniversary on August 20, 2022, notwithstanding the couple's July 17, 2022, marriage in Las Vegas.
There isn't a prenuptial agreement, according to sources who spoke with TMZ; the singer did not clarify this.
The source told to PEOPLE, "She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken," adding, “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”
To note, After being engaged for over 17 years and delaying their September 2003 wedding, Lopez and Affleck made headlines when they announced their renowned romance return in 2021.
The couple stayed friends during the more than ten years that passed between their initial official breakup in January 2004.
