Angelina Jolie stays in L.A. because of divorce but has big plans to move when twins turn 18
Angelina Jolie has revealed that her current residence in Los Angeles is a result of her divorce, but she has shared her plans to relocate once her twins turn 18.
In a recently released interview for The Hollywood Reporter, Maria actress made a few remarks about her personal life and also mentioned her family and her ongoing divorce from her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
Jolie "grew up in" Los Angeles, but she informed the source that she is only here "because I have to be here from a divorce."
She said, speaking of her and Pitt's two youngest children, the 16-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, "But as soon as they're 18, I'll be able to leave."
The Oscar winner continued by expressing her wish for "privacy" for her "big family," which consists of her four older children, Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18.
Jolie said, "When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," adding, "I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here."
She shared that after she leaves L.A., "I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia," which is where she adopted son Maddox from in 2002.
"I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world," Jolie added.
After two years of marriage, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, 60, in September 2016, and their settlement talks are still underway almost eight years later.
