US rapper Fatman Scoop breathes his last at age 53

US rapper Fatman Scoop has tragically passed away after collapsing on stage during a live performance.

The rapper and hype man passed away, according to a post on his Instagram account written by his family, who expressed their "deep sadness and very heavy hearts."

Scoop, who gained fame for his 2003 hit song Be Faithful, was earlier observed passing out on stage while performing in Connecticut.

The rapper, whose true name was Isaac Freeman III, was from New York, and he was walking behind a DJ booth after taking off his top when he seemed to fall.

As per his family statement, “"Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life.”

It is added, "FatManScoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend.

They continued, "He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage. FatMan Scoop was known to the world as the undisputed voice of the club.”

The statement concluded, “His much made us dance and embrace life with positivity. His joy was infectious and the generosity he extended to all will be deeply missed but never forgotten."
