Sean 'Diddy' Combs hits with legal trouble as he indicted for big offenses
The Southern District of New York announced Combs' custody by federal investigators
Sean 'Diddy' Combs was charged with several allegations, including involvement in prostitution-related crimes, sex trafficking, and racketeering.
The Southern District of New York announced Combs' custody by federal investigators the day before the accusations were made.
Officers from Homeland Security Investigations reportedly arrested the rapper and producer in a Manhattan hotel, a source told PEOPLE.
During a press conference outside the federal courtroom in New York, Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, stated that his client will "plead not guilty, obviously" and pledged to "fight like hell" to secure Combs' release.
“He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might and the full confidence of his lawyers, and I expect a long battle with a good result for Mr. Combs," Agnifilo said.
According to the accusation, the prosecution accuses Combs of forcing women to participate in "highly orchestrated performances," or "freak-offs."
It is alleged that male prostitutes were involved in the "freak-offs"; according to the government's indictment, Combs arranged flights for women and prostitutes to visit his residence.
The section asserted that Combs "ensured participation" by giving them drugs, managing their careers, threatening to stop giving them money, and using coercion and violence.
Notably, federal authorities searched Combs' homes in Miami and Los Angeles in March and cited him as a defendant in several other lawsuits.
