Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck land in new crisis amid divorce
The pair is still interested in buying the property
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marital house’s sale stalls when buyers back out over lack of interest from relatives.
The purchasers have pulled out of escrow owing to a family loss, even though they accepted a $64 million offer from a couple in New Jersey.
The pair is still interested in buying the property, according to TMZ.
In July, the house in Beverly Hills, California, was first offered for $68 million. The five-acre property was bought by Lopez and Affleck in 2023 for a cash payment of $60.8 million.
The estate has a 12-car garage, space for 80 cars, a two-bedroom guardhouse, a caretaker house, and a separate 5,000-square-foot guest apartment.
A fully furnished gym, boxing ring, sports lounge, bar, basketball court and pickleball court are among the extra features.
According to a source who talked to People magazine, the Marry Me actress never liked the large apartment.
The insider said, "She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances."
The estate has a modern look, but Lopez loves a "romantic, Spanish, European vibe," they continued.
In order to be near his kids after their divorce, the Hypnotic singer rented a house in Brentwood, California, instead of staying at the marital residence.
Since then, in July, he bought a $20.5 million property in Pacific Palisades. Lopez was recently seen seeing a $22 million bachelorette pad in Beverly Hills as she looks for her next place to live.
Notwithstanding the delay, Lopez and Affleck will still have to pay a 5.25% mansion tax and realtor fees in addition to the millions of dollars they will have to spend on improvements.
