Lady Gaga shared her views on her experience working with her fiancé Michael Polansky
Lady Gaga discussed her connection with fiancé Michael Polansky and how discovering her "best friend" had a profoundly positive impact on her life.
On September 30, A Star is Born actress gave an exclusive interview to People magazine on her experience working with her fiancé Michael Polansky on her most recent studio album, Harlequin, at the Los Angeles premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux.
Polansky, 41, co-executive produced the project alongside Gaga.
"It's just the first time that we decided to fully just go into it and do it. It just felt right," Gaga said. "We were both so excited. We were all warmed up and ready to go."
Gaga expressed her deep affection for Polansky, she added, "I just love my fiancé so much. He's my best friend. He's my partner, and I just feel like when you are with your best friend, everything changes."
The couple started dating in 2020, and in July of 2024, they announced their engagement.
Polansky wrote lyrics for a number of songs on Harlequin, such as When the Saints, Good Morning, Get Happy Oh, and If My Friends Could See Me Now.
The album has thirteen tracks total: two originals, Happy Mistake and Folie à Deux, and twelve covers.
Gaga attributed her impending seventh album's inspiration to Polansky in an interview with Vogue in early September. "Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record," she said. "He was like, 'Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music.'"
Gaga and Polansky debuted together on the Venice Film Festival red carpet and on September 26 at the London premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux.
