John Mulaney faces backlash for mocking Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Netflix projects
John Mulaney mocks Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Netflix projects

John Mulaney ruthlessly mocked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix flops in front of A-listers Ben Affleck and Tina Fey.
While promoting Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, the 42-year-old comedian referenced 40-year-old Duke and 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex failed Netflix projects at the Next on Netflix event in Los Angeles.
The former Saturday Night Live star, whose show premieres on March 12, thanked the platform for taking a chance on him, adding, "This is a really fun experiment."
"Not since Harry and Meghan has Netflix given more money to someone without a specific plan," he exclaimed.
John was referring to their $100 million, five-year contract with the streamer, signed in 2020 to create programming.
The couple’s debut Netflix project was their 2022 tell-all docuseries, Harry & Meghan, which offered an inside look at their love story and departure from royal life.
However, they have been under pressure to deliver after their 2022 animated series, Pearl, was nixed and their 2024 docuseries, Polo, didn’t resonate with audiences, per InTouch Weekly.
An Insider spoke to the publication, saying, "Fact is, Harry and Meghan were paid an exorbitant amount of money by Netflix and have little to show for it."
