Selena Gomez,  American actress and singer, has faced huge loss after being slammed over her emotional deportation video.

The Calm Down singer, who earned record breaking Oscar nomination for her panned movie Emilia Perez, has lost whopping 707,880 Instagram followers in the last 30 days.

For the unknown, the 32-year-old  had 42M followers on her official Instagram account, being the most followed woman on the social media handle.

This comes after Benny Blanco's fiancé responded President Donald Trump's mass deportations of undocumented immigrants - a policy he campaigned on ahead of the 2024 election.

Selena, who earned net worth over $1.3  billion,  went on sharing a sobbing video over the matter and ended with receiving backlash from the Republicans and MAGA supporters.

Moreover, the US senate candidate Sam Parker, called out the Mexican vocalist and asserted that she should be deported.

However, Since Gomez immediately deleted the clip, shedding 116,833 follower and 24-hours saw her biggest single-day drop as 44,151 pressed the unfollow button.

According to the analyzed data by Critique Jeu,  Selena's social channels have  loss of 808,500 followers  over all. 

The co-founder and editor of CritiqueJeu,  Paul Lenglet,  detailed: "Selena Gomez had a great end to 2024, but the start of 2025 has not been so gentle on her."

Selena Gomez is also facing criticism over her participation and performance on Emilia Pérez.
