Prince Harry to take Invictus Games to the next level
Prince Harry marks major milestone in his Invictus Games
Prince Harry celebrates a new milestone as he has found a new and unique way to help the athletes.
As the 40-year-old Duke of Sussex geared up to travel to Vancouver for the upcoming Invictus Games , where a new participating nation, in the Paralympic-style contest for wounded, injured and sick veterans and armed services members, takes a major step in the competition.
Nigeria has recently begun constructing a new rehab center, in Abuja in January 2025, for injured service members, named the Armed Forces Invictus Centre.
As the first ever Invictus Games Foundation Center, this project will reflect Nigeria’s dedication and commitment to the games as well as their support towards the injured servicemen and women.
During a conversation with People, Dominic Reid, who is the CEO of Invictus Games Foundation, praised the county’s immense amount of dedication to the values of Invictus, highlighting the importance of adaptive sports when it comes to rehabilitation.
"The most important part of Nigeria's involvement is that sports rehabilitation is now a thing there," he stated.
He went on to express how "astonishing" it is considering that they previously had little knowledge about rehabilitation when they first began working with them.
"It speaks very loudly of the international impact that Invictus has, and I’m really proud of that," Reid shared.
Invictus Games is set to start on February 8, 2025.
