Unique reason behind less cravings for junk food in morning

Did it ever hit you have you wondered that we mostly do not crave junk food early in the morning?
Well, a unique reason behind it is because human body is naturally focused on restoring balance after sleep.
This leads to a preference for more balanced, and nutritious meals with protein and complex carbohydrates which helps stabilising blood sugar levels rather than seeking quick sugary or fatty fixes that characterize junk food.
Veena V, Chief Clinical Dietician, Aster Whitefield Hospital, Bengaluru, in this regard explained that people have high levels of leptin which suppresses their appetite and lower levels of ghrelin which triggers our hunger.
“We are also dehydrated after sleep,” she said, adding, “Hence we are naturally inclined towards a hydrating and nutritious breakfast. So, junk cravings usually hit later in the day when blood sugar dips or emotional triggers kick on.
According to the research, factors such as blood sugar imbalances, poor sleep, nutritional deficiencies, and emotional triggers can lead to hormonal imbalances that increase cravings in human body.
Moreover, by eating protein, getting enough sleep, drinking water, planning meals and snacks, and managing stress can help in controlling junk food cravings.
