Tom Hanks walks out of SNL anniversary: What really happened?
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson stormed out from 'Saturday Night Live' 50th anniversary concert
Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, recently made headlines for storming out from the SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.
The couple, as reported by Daily Mail, attended the celebration which took place at the iconic Radio City Music Hall on Valentine's Day.
During the event, host Jimmy Fallon shared the disclaimer that no awards would be given out during the night. "Apparently, there's been some confusion," the talk show host said in video, adding, "This is just a concert. We're not giving out any awards tonight. So I just want to make sure that everyone knows that."
The camera was then panned at the 68-year-old actor who along with his wife, apparently after hearing it, stood up and began to walk out of the theater in a humorous way.
The Forrest Gump actor’s wife was also seen jokingly shaking her finger towards Jimmy as it appeared to be a planned skit.
"Tom? Rita?" the host could be seen calling out while sending a look of confusion towards the camera, saying "We lost Tom Hanks and Rita. Sorry. It wasn't their fault."
The brief comedic skit was part of SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert, a three-hour anniversary special which saw performances from Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Cher.
