Playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar ‘out of danger’ after suicide attempt
Kalpana Raghavendar is currently on ventilator support at a private hospital in Hyderabad
Renowned playback singer Kalpana Raghavendar tried to take her own life at her home in Hyderabad.
According to reports, she consumed sleeping pills.
Reports also suggest that police had to break into her house to save her life. She is currently on ventilator in a private hospital in Hyderabad.
The reason for her attempted suicide is unknown with police questioning her husband, Prasad, as well.
Kalpana hails from Nizampet, Hyderabada and is the daughter of well-known playback singer T.S. Raghavendra.
She became an icon after winning the title in Star Singer Malayalam in 2010 and has recorded more than 1,500 songs in multiple languages. She has also performed in more than 3,000 shows.
According to doctors, she is "out of danger" and stable.
Police wait for her to regain consciousness so that they can get the investigation on the way.
