'When Life Gives You Tangerines': The whopping amount actors are demanding

When Life Gives You Tangerines, a Netflix series, which has kept everyone hooked are reportedly parying a whopping amount to its leading stars, IU and Park Bo-gum.

According to earlier claims, the leading actors were paid a whopping amount of ₩500 million KRW (approximately 346,000 USD) per episode.

However, the production team of the Netflix series has turned down the claims.

A representative from WLGYT's production company, PAN Entertainment, while denying the reports, stated, "The claim that IU received ₩500 million per episode is completely false."

The controversy began when one of the anonymous social media users posted that the Hotel del Luna actress and the Reply 1988 actor were paid 500 million KRW per episode for the romantic 16-episode series.

Moreover, there is no confirmation regarding Park Bo-gum’s paycheck about how he is getting for When Life Gives You Tangerines.

Directed by Kim Won-seok, the series focuses on the adventure-filled life of the rebellious girl, Oh Ae-sun, played by IU, and her reliable friend, Yang Gwang-sik, played by Bo-gum, both born in Jeju in the 1950s.

Apart from the duo, the series also stars Park Hae-joon, Moon So-ri, Lee Jun-young Yeom Hye-ran, and Oh Jung-se.

When Life Gives You Tangerines is currently streaming on Netflix.
