94% Germans turn against Elon Musk’s Tesla
A recent poll has revealed that an overwhelming majority of Germans are not interested in purchasing Elon Musk’s Tesla.
Conducted by T-Online, out of 100,000 respondents, 94% stated that they would not buy a Tesla, while only 3% expressed willingness to consider the option.
This significant decline in interest can be attributed to the Tesla CEO’s controversial views and actions. Musk's support for the far-right AfD party in Germany, as well as his comments on the country's Nazi past, have sparked widespread criticism.
During a call with AfD supporters, Musk urged them to "move beyond" their "past guilt," which many perceived as insensitive and dismissive of Germany's complex history.
This statement was particularly ill-timed, coming just two days before Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Musk's actions have not only decreased potential customers in Germany but have also sparked protests in the United States.
His role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been met with criticism, and some have taken their frustration out on Tesla vehicles and showrooms.
Moreover, according to Forbes, Tesla sales in Germany dropped by 76% in February, despite a 32% increase in electric vehicle (EV) registrations during the same period.
