WhatsApp introduces chat memory feature for Meta AI

To enhance users’ overall experience, WhatsApp has introduced a new chat memory feature for its Meta AI chatbot.

Announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, this feature allows users to manually store details within the chatbot's memory, enabling it to provide more personalised and relevant responses.

With this feature, users can ask Meta AI to remember specific information, such as their profession or interests.

The AI chatbot will then use this information to offer tailored suggestions and insights. For instance, if a user tells Meta AI they work as a graphic designer, the chatbot can recommend productivity tools, design software, or industry trends.

The feature marks a significant step in Meta’s efforts to transform its AI into a more intuitive, lifestyle-aware assistant.

Moreover, users will have full control over what information is stored, and they can review, update, or delete their preferences at any time.

Notably, the AI chatbot cannot access the messages shared in other chats due to end-to-end encryption.

Currently available to some beta testers via the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.11.13 update, the feature is expected to be rolled out to a wider audience in the coming weeks.
