Apple’s upcoming Vision Pro headset to rival Meta Quest 3

Apple is reportedly working on two new versions of the Apple Vision Pro headset, aimed at giving a tough time to rival Meta Quest 3.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, one model is expected to be a more affordable and lighter version of the existing headset, while the other model will be Meta Ray-Ban-style AR glasses.

Launched in the United States and other global markets in 2024, Apple’s original headset faced challenges due to its high price point of $3,500 and weight issues.

To note, the device weighed nearly 650g, with several Apple users complaining of neck and head strain. The company even offered support straps to alleviate the issue.

Gurman has suggested that the company re-evaluate its plans for a new Vision Pro model after facing returns and refunds.

However, Apple has decided to continue investing in the platform and is now pushing ahead with two new models.

Now, the upcoming model is expected to address the weight and price concerns, with a focus on building a faster, lighter, and more affordable headset.

These advancements will likely make Apple’s headset more competitive with Meta's offerings, such as the Quest headset, which is significantly cheaper.
