Google Classroom’s new AI feature to help teachers generate quiz questions
Google Classroom has introduced a new artificial intelligence (AI)- powered feature that helps teachers generate quiz questions based on specific text input.
This update builds on Google's previous integration of Gemini into Classroom in 2024, which has expanded to include tools for creating vocabulary lists, generating lesson plan ideas, and summarising materials like class notes and student feedback.
Utilising Google’s AI chatbot Gemini AI, this tool allows educators to create questions by uploading files from Google Drive or manually entering text.
Teachers can customise the generated questions by selecting filters such as grade level, number of questions, and question type such as multiple-choice or open-ended.
Users can also specify the skills they want students to demonstrate, like using figurative language or evaluating arguments.
It should be noted that the generated questions can be exported into a Google Doc or Google Form.
Currently, this feature is available to Google Workspace for Education subscribers with either the Gemini Education add-on or Gemini Education Premium.
