King Charles set to inaugurate new palace as he advertises new royal opportunity

An exciting opportunity to work near the British royal family has recently been announced by King Charles.

While the London-based St. James’s Palace prepares to open its doors for the first time in its 500-year-old history, a vacancy has presented itself since the Palace is now in need of filling new positions.

The Palace, whose construction was commissioned by King Henry VIII between 1531 and 1536, is the senior-most royal residence, following the destruction of the Palace of Whitehall during a fire in 1698.

The latest opening is for the role of an Assistant Curator of Paintings and comes with an allotted salary of £30,000 per annum, as advertised via the Royal Household vacancies page online.

The chosen candidate will be required to fill the position between July 2025, until next year, July 2026, while the work will have to be undertaken 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

According to the official job description, one successful applicant for the position will get to “work with a world class collection of European paintings and support the team with a wide range of curatorial activities to ensure our collection is presented to the highest of standards and enjoyed by thousands of visitors”.

King Charles will likely inaugurate the latest project, which will go into effect sometime in April 2025, with guided tours available for St. James’s Palace until May 2025.
