Drake drops update about new music

Drake is making new music, he confirmed in a Kick livestream with Adin Ross.

“Thank you to everybody that’s streaming the album,” the Nokia rapper said about his recent work $exy $ongs 4 U. “Every time, every journey. Working on a new album, it’s a slap,” he added.

The host Ross was surprised by the update asking Drake whether it was a solo album. He replied, “yeah,” then added, “Shout out to everybody that’s been showing us love, though, for real. On every song. Shout out to everybody that’s coming to Wireless [Festival]. We love you so much.”

The last solo album by the Hotline Bling rapper came in 2023. $exy $ongs 4 U was a collaboration with Partynextdoor and was released in February.

Drake was occupied with a feud with Kendrick Lamar most of last year and an ongoing legal battle with his record label, Universal Music Group.

In February while on tour to Australia, the 38-year-old had hinted that a solo effort would be on the way. “And you know, eventually when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all,” he said onstage. “When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album, a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear.”

For the unversed, Drake’s full name is Aubrey Drake Graham.
