Jimmy Kimmel reflects on controversy with Donald Trump
Jimmy Kimmel reacts to a joke he cracked about Donald Trump

Jimmy Kimmel has opened up about the joke he made about the President of the Unites States , Donald Trump at the Oscars of 2024.
Following the joke, many critics labelled him a "hypocrite" as he cohosted The Man Show alongside Adam Carolla whose main theme was different to the values Kimmel now possesses as the show was known for its male-centered humour and for being politically incorrect.
During a Rolling Stone interview published on Tuesday, April 15, the late night host sapoke to the publication regarding this matter.
He said, "Yeah, it's fair game. I think it's kind of funny, because the very people who are using those videos as an example of why I'm a horrible person were probably the biggest fans of the show at that time."
"We did the show a little tongue-in-cheek. I mean, if you really watch the show, we are making fun of ourselves through almost the whole show. It was not meant to be taken literally that men are superior to women, but for some people, it was," Kimmel continued explaining.
He added, "But you can pull things out of context and then they are taken literally. And that's just how it goes."
Back in October of 2017, The New York Magazine asked the host if he looked back at the show and cringed.
To which the 57-year-old replied, "I look back at every show I've ever done and cringe. My vision of hell is a bunch of monitors with my old shows running on them. But yes, of course, and not necessarily for the reasons you think."
To note, Jimmy Kimmel has been hosting his late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! since 2003.
