Johnny Depp gears up for 'Pirates of the Caribbean' comeback

Johnny Depp who’s best known for his role, 'Jack Sparrow' in Pirates of the Caribbean is all geared up to make a comeback in its new part.

As per a UK website, The Express, Depp is in "advanced" talks to reprise his role in the new project.

A senior executive has confirmed that the 61-year-old actor has contacted the Disney bosses and "it is very close to a done deal."

It is pertinent to mention that Walt Disney Pictures is the primary production house of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series."

The senior executive explained, "A script is already in place and Disney views this as a series reboot, meaning the door will be wide open for more future episodes for Johnny, despite everything he has been through. They actually had two scripts ready to go – one with Johnny in mind, the other without him – and they are ready to can the one without him."

For the unversed, Disney had cut ties with the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actor after his former wife Amber Heard had accused him of domestic abuse.

The report also mentioned that if the deal moves forward, then the release date  for the new project would be as early as Easter 2026, with filming commencing from next month.

Apart from that, Johnny Depp has also been cast in an upcoming movie titled, Day Drinker alongside Penélope Cruz and Madelyn Cline.
