Lady Gaga breaks new record in Brazil
The American pop star hosted a huge concert in Rio de Janeiro

Lady Gaga cemented herself further into pop history over the weekend when she hosted her biggest ever concert in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.
Officials from the city reported that more than two million attendees flocked to the Copacabana Beach in Rio on Saturday to catch the long-teased event.
While the city’s establishment paid for the concert to boost their economy, the attendees were treated to the huge extravaganza free of charge.
Moreover, the concert is expected to add around $100 million to Rio’s economy.
Returning to Brazil for the first time since 2012, Gaga performed hits from her latest album Mayhem, which is currently on tour with.
Her Brazilian fans were treated to performances of Abracadabra and Die With a Smile, among other successful tracks from the album.
Queues for the night-long party commenced early morning, as a massive security operation was also put in place to ensure the concertgoers’ wellbeing.
The operation included 5,000 police officers, who employed metal detection and drone technology to maintain the huge event’s security.
Rio de Janeiro’s plans to boost their economy also saw the Judas singer’s concert as the second time an artist performed for free in the city.
Madonna was the other musician to perform a free live gig in Rio during 2024.
Meanwhile, Lady Gaga delivered a rousing message to her fans who had gathered to watch her perform before the concert kicked off.
“You waited for me, you waited for more than 10 years for me,” she said.
“Brazil, I’m ready. I’m going to give it my all,” Lady Gaga boomed over the massive crowd as she prepared to begin the historic performance.
