Julia Roberts recently came forward sharing that she had to say goodbye to her best friend and beloved dog Myrtle.

To pay a heartwarming and emotional tribute to her beloved dog, who had live for 19 years, the 57-year-old actress took to Instagram on March 16, expressing her love for the canine.

"Our Myrtle. A Legend. 2006-2025," she penned in the caption and added a crown emoji.

The Pretty Woman star’s husband Daniel Moder also shared a post on his account in order to honour Myrtle and wrote, "The definition of Fierce Loyalty, even if she bit the pizza man once. RIP Myrtle aka (also known as) Myrtle Von Mertzenberger."

After welcoming her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus in 2004, Julia adopted the canine in 2006, a year before giving birth to her youngest son Henry Daniel.

Since then, Myrtle has been with the family and created a strong bond with them so the loss of their family member has understandably left them upset and in an emotional state.

The dog made multiple appearances on the 56-year-old cinematographer’s social media.

In a festive post in December of 2016, Daniel showed off his dogs posing in the snow, writing, "Everyday is Christmas for these guys."

And then went on to wish his followers a "Merry Christmas from Arroyo Seco."
