GTA VI leak hints at underwater exploration that could transform gameplay

The anticipation for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI is reaching new heights, and a recent leak might have just raised the stakes even further.

According to reports, Rockstar’s next entry could feature fully explorable underwater environments, bringing a game-changing level of depth to the open-world formula.

Set to launch on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, GTA VI is rumoured to offer much more than just a return to the iconic Vice City.

If the leak comes true, players might be able to dive beneath the ocean’s surface and explore underwater zones filled with treasure, hidden secrets, and even enemies.

While previous GTA games have experimented with underwater content, like diving in San Andreas or encountering sharks in GTA V, these features were largely side distractions.

This time, Rockstar might be turning the ocean into a core part of the game’s world-building.

Players could stumble upon cartel smuggling routes, secret bunkers, or narrative-driven collectibles hidden deep below the surface.

Moreover, the rumoured tropical setting and expansive map make the idea of deep-sea missions more plausible than ever.

Combined with other reported features, including over 700 enterable buildings and dynamic character switching, GTA VI seems poised to deliver a world that’s alive on land, in the skies, and now, beneath the waves.
