Princess Eugenie was notably absent from Trooping the Colour ceremony on Saturday, where the royal family and the English nation gathered to celebrate King Charles’ birth.

According to multiple sources, the two Princesses of York, Eugenie and Beatrice, were not invited to join their family on the day as they do not operate as active members of the Firm.

Instead, the 35-year-old royal took to her social media and celebrated a different occasion, which also explained her absence from the King’s event.

“It was a joy to attend The Coral Collective’s charity art auction in support of coral preservation and restoration,” she shared.

Due to her well known devotion to the field of art, Prince Andrew’s younger daughter wrote a special tribute for her passion, adding, “Grateful to witness creativity being used as a force for ocean conservation & combining two of my greatest passions, art and the ocean.”

Meanwhile, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice used to be part of the Trooping the Colour carriage procession alongside other members of the royal family until 2022, when King Charles tightened the rules following Queen Elizabeth’s demise; according to the new directions, only working members of the Crown are eligible to attend the ceremony.
