Aimee Lou Wood receives 'vile' threats: Here’s why

Aimee Lou Wood has recently broken her silence on the bizarre occurrences she has encountered since voicing her opinion on the current global political situation.

Amid the ongoing US-Iran conflict, the 31-year-old actress took to her Instagram handle to share some anti-war sentiments, featuring a clip of British politician Tony Benn’s 1998 anti-war speech, in which he stated that war isn't the solution, as civilians are the most affected.

The White Lotus star later returned to Instagram, revealing that she has received constant threats since posting that video clip.

"Love getting vile threats of violence and death just for saying I'm against war and innocent people dying... The world is crazy," Wood wrote over the top of a selfie.

This comes after the US military attacked three nuclear facilities in Iran, which the U.S. President Donald Trump declared a "very successful attack."

It is worth noting that the Sex Education alum is not the only celebrity to speak out about the attack. The 57-year-old actor Mark Ruffalo also took to his social media platforms to address the harrowing situation.

"Trump just bombed Iran without Congressional approval, illegally pushing us into a dangerous new war," the Avengers star wrote, adding, "The American people don't want it. And we can stop him if Congress acts quickly."

"The Iran war powers resolutions in the House and Senate will come up for a vote to direct Trump to stop carrying out his unauthorized war," Mark Ruffalo concluded.
