Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, walked through Wimbledon´s gates this week for the first time in over twenty years.
When she settled into the Royal Box on Centre Court next to her daughter, Princess Beatrice, cameras caught a welcome peek at their easy mother-daughter bond as royals still get to show.
The 65-year-old Duchess beamed, her summer floral dress matching the tournament’s garden scene, while Beatrice picked a crisp striped ensemble that still respected Wimbledons classic code.
Cameras captured their easy laughter, even sparking sideways glances from neighbours Sir David Beckham and actor Eddie Redmayne, who sat just a few rows back.
Her most recent stroll around the Championships was way back in the early 2000s, so people of all ages watching her again that day were hit with a serious wave of nostalgia.
Picture the 1980s and you can almost see her beside Princess Diana, both resting casually on a railing, ice-cream cones in hand, sharing light chat and that easy warmth only old friends know.
