Prince William dreading new royal protocol for Prince George?
The Prince of Wales will soon celebrate his eldest son’s 12th birthday

Prince William is reportedly unhappy about a royal protocol which will kick into gear on Prince George’s upcoming birthday.
As the young prince will turn 12 years old on July 22, he will no longer be able to travel with his father, the future monarch.
This rule has been in place to protect the succession of the throne, so that in the case of one heir’s demise, the other can remain safe.
However, former BBC correspondent and royal expert Jennie Bond shared in her opinion that this old tradition for the father and son’s joint safety will only apply to air travel, and that the Prince of Wales may even dismiss it altogether on certain occasions.
“Nevertheless, it’s going to be rather annoying for the family because they are such a tight little unit and obviously enjoy travelling together,” she told The Mirror.
The expert further expressed concern for George, who will need to adapt to his new reality quite soon.
“It is of course quite a graphic illustration of how George’s destiny is mapped out and of how he is different to everyone else. And that must be quite hard for a 12-year-old to accept,” she said.
However, Jennie Bond also credited his “brilliant parents”, whom she guaranteed will be able to “explain the situation as gently as possible to all three of their children.”
To note, Prince William’s eldest, Prince George was born on July 22, 2013, while he also shares 10-year-old Princess Charlotte and seven-year-old Prince Louis with Kate Middleton.
