SpaceX has resumed its launch operations from Southern California, following a brief hiatus of over two weeks.

The renewed activity gives skywatchers a chance to witness rockets streaking across the night sky once again.

The latest mission took off on Tuesday night (July 15), as part of SpaceX’s ongoing effort to expand its Starlink satellite network.

Elon Musk’s private aerospace company is now preparing for another Falcon 9 rocket launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in Santa Barbara County, California.

Although the launch site is located on the West Coast, residents in neighboring Arizona might still catch a glimpse of the rocket as it ascends into space.

The mission is scheduled to lift off from Launch Complex 4E. If conditions delay the initial attempt, backup launch windows are available starting at 9:26pm Pacific Time on Saturday (July 19).

Most Vandenberg launches follow a south or southeast trajectory, which could improve visibility for people in Arizona and other nearby states.

This mission will use SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, a 230-foot, two-stage vehicle known for its reliability and frequent launches.

It will carry 24 additional Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit, adding to the growing constellation that aims to provide global internet coverage.

The satellite orbit altitude is low enough that, under clear skies and proper lighting conditions, viewers on the ground could witness the rocket’s bright trail as it climbs through the atmosphere.
