Sydney Sweeney transforms into boxing legend Christy Martin for TIFF 2025

Sydney Sweeney comes with another banger, and fans can’t wait for it.

The Anyone But You actress just dropped a knockout post on Instagram, sharing the first official image of herself as fierce boxer Christy Martin in the upcoming biopic Christy, set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025.

The 27-year-old actress is well-known for her outstanding performance in the drama series Euphoria.

“TIFF 50. Christy,” she captioned the striking shot, which features her in full boxing gear, mid-roar, in the center of the ring.

Moreover, the poster was unveiled by the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and the image shows Sweeney in the ring, gloves raised, fully transformed into the 1990s sports legend for the highly anticipated biopic Christy.

Directed by David Michôd (Animal Kingdom, The King), the film is based on the life of Christy Martin, a groundbreaking athlete dubbed “the female Rocky.”

Other spotlighted titles include Frankenstein and Good Fortune. signaling a festival focused on “new perspectives and cinematic excellence.”

Christy is one of the highlighted Special Presentations revealed by TIFF this week for its 50th edition lineup.
