The Rock, whose real name is Dwayne Douglas Johnson, paid an emotional tribute to Hulk Hogan after his death.

Hulk one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling, has died at the age of 71 due to cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday, July 24.

On Friday, July 25, the American actor and wrestler took to his Instagram account to share a video watching an old match of his late friend.

The Moana actor penned a long heartfelt note, recalling their legendary clash at WrestleMania 18 in 2002, where he beat Hulk in the Icon vs. Icon main attraction. The note began with, "Rest in Peace, Terry Bollea aka The Immortal Hulk Hogan."

"To millions of little kids, you were a childhood hero - myself included. In 1984, I gave you your “HULKSTER” headband back, in the locker room in Madison Square Garden - I was the lucky kid caught it when you threw it in the crowd. You were wrestling “Mr Wonderful," he added.

The Black Adam star further wrote, "Paul Orndorff that night in the main event. You were shocked and so happy after the match because you told me that was your very last headband and if it weren’t for me, you’d have no way of getting that exact one made again."

He continued, "You promised me that you would get more made and give me a Hulkster headband of my own as a thank you gift."

The Rock also thanked the late wrestler from the bottom of his heart for drawing the crowds and selling out the house, a debt of gratitude that will last forever brother.
