Hollywood, a place where "expect the unexpected" is often the norm, has seen many celebrities use their platforms in recent years to reveal their authentic selves to the world.
Well, coming out can be a challenging and some stars have embraced the challenge quite impressively and bravely.
From actors such as Kristen Stewart and musicians like Ricky Martin, there is a growing number of Hollywood stars, who have come out of closet; let's take a look at some of the notable names:
1. Kristen Stewart

We all know Kristen Stewart as Bella from Twilight! She’s grown so much as an actor and about her sexuality as well.
Though after dating her Speak costar Michael Angarano and Twilight love interest Robert Pattinson during her early years in the spotlight, Stewart had never publicly disclosed her sexuality until 2017.
Since coming out, the 35-year-old actress has dated Alicia Cargile, St. Vincent, Soko, Stella Maxwell and Dylan Meyer, whom she ended up marrying in April 2025 after six years of dating.
Through her platform, Stewart has emphasised the importance of authenticity and visibility, inspiring many with her courage to be herself in the public eye.
2. Demi Lovato

The Heart Attack singer, who initially came out as bisexual to her parents in 2017, is now pansexual, which means she is attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender.
The 32-year-old singer initially identified as non-binary, using they/them pronouns, and later also adopted she/her pronouns, reflecting their fluid gender identity.
Lovato has also claimed that she feels “too queer” to be involved with cisgender men going forward.
3.Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish, who has been open about her sexuality, came out as gay in 2023.
The Bad Guy hitmaker has confirmed her attraction to women, mentioning in an interview that she loves girls and is attracted to them and also believes that people should be able to exist without labels.
The 23-year-old singer was last rumoured to be dating Quenlin Blackwell, but the two have not confirmed their romance.
4. Elliot Page

The Umbrella Academy star came out as lesbian in 2014, and nearly seven years later in 2020, Page announced that he was transgender.
The Inception actor currently identifies as a trans man, queer, and non-binary, using both he and they pronouns.
Moreover, his journey and advocacy have been instrumental in promoting LGBTQ+ rights and representation.
5. Miley Cyrus

The Flowers hitmaker identifies as pansexual, which means she is attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender.
She has stated that she doesn't feel straight or gay, and is open to relationships with people of any gender, means she has been in relationships with both men and women.
6. Anna Camp

The You actress confirmed that she's dating a woman earlier this year in February 2024.
The Pitch Perfect is in a relationship with Jade Whipkey, a stylist.
The two have been sharing sweet moments from their relationship on social media.
7. Halsey

Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, identifies as bisexual and uses both she/her and they/them pronouns, reflecting her non-binary identity.
The Without Me hitmaker has been open about her sexuality since 2015 and has used her platform to advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
8. Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush has come out as queer in 2024, sharing her journey in an essay via Glamour magazine in which she identified her sexuality as queer.
The Law & Order actress also declared that she's happy to have found love with her girlfriend, Ashlyn Harris, after going through a divorce from Grant Hughes.
9. Ricky Martin

The 90s famous singer came out as gay in 2010 through an announcement via his website, stating that he was a “fortunate homosexual man”.
Martin is married to Jwan Yosef, a Swedish-Syrian painter, whom he met in 2016 and married in 2017.
Martin believes his god accepts him for who he is, and he feels a strong spiritual connection that reassures his identity.
10. Matt Bomer

Bomer is openly gay as publicly came out in 2012 while accepting an award at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards during which he thanking his husband, Simon Halls, and their three children.
The White Collar actor believes coming out as gay cost him certain opportunities in Hollywood, but he considers it a freeing experience that allowed him to live his authentic self.
