Risk it for the shot: Celebrities doing their own stunts

In Hollywood some celebrities do their own intense and crazy stunts in movies or TV shows as this makes the scenes look more real and can create memorable moments. Actors like Tom Cruise are well known for doing lots of their own stunts in movies like Mission: Impossible.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie did a bunch of tough stunts in the series Salt in 2010. As per the Los Angeles Times, the American actress jumped off a bridge onto a container then jumped between trucks and finally stole a motorcycle to escape.

Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan has done lots of super dangerous stunts but the pole slide scene in Police Story is one of his craziest. The actor later revealed that he had one shot to film this moment because he had suffered second degree burns on his hands during the first shot.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger did all his own stunts in Conan the Barbarian film because it was hard to find someone else big enough to stand in for him. In one scene where Conan is chased by wolves,  Arnold revealed, a trainer let a wolf go too early and the wolf caught up to him, causing injuries.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is known for doing his own crazy stunts in Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation. The legendary actor did one of his most daring stunts as he held onto the side of an Airbus A400 flying at 160mph. Tom did eight takes of this stunt.

Charlize Theron

In 2020's movie The Old Guard, Charlize Theron did her own stunts like she usually does. In one intense scene where the actress is fighting on an airplane as the Monster star swings over Nile, played by KiKi Layne, and slams her to the ground. Charlize said it took her four months to get this move right and needed "99 takes" to film it.

Keanu Reeves

In The Matrix Resurrections movie, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss did a crazy stunt in a fight scene on a skyscraper.  They were wired for safety but the building was about 46 stories tall and they did the jump "19 or 20" times.
