The Hannah Montana star, whose early fame came from entertaining kids, shared that she doesn't see herself becoming a mother.

In a candid interview with Elle, Miley discussed the expectations women face regarding reproduction.

"We're expected to keep the planet populated. And when that isn't a part of our plan or our purpose, there is so much judgment and anger that they try to make and change laws to force it upon you — even if you become pregnant in a violent situation," she said.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker added,” If you don't want children, people feel sorry for you, like you're a cold, heartless bitch who's not capable of love … Why are we trained that love means putting yourself second and those you love first? If you love yourself, then what? You come first."

Elsewhere in the interview, Miley also reflected on the world's environmental challenges, saying she doesn't want her child to face the consequences.

"We're getting handed a piece-of-s--- planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child. Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I'm not bringing in another person to deal with that," she stated.

The couple, married for 17 years, are content with not having kids.

In a 2015 interview on the Today show, Ellen shared her honest thoughts about starting a family.

"I think I would [like to have kids]. But that's not enough to have kids. I love kids. But that's such a big commitment," she said.

The host added, "And it seems long-term. It seems like a commitment that you have to stick with. And I just don't know if I can — it's too risky. Like, what if I don't like the kid? What if it turns out that it's not as cute as I wanted, or as talented? I'm going to compare it to all these kids that I have on the show that are so smart and so funny."

Her wife, Portia, has also spoken about their mutual decision not to have children.

"There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, 'Am I going to have kids so I don't miss out on something that other people really seem to love? Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart?' I didn't feel that my response was 'yes' to the latter," she told Out in 2013.

The Australian-American former actress further shared that she and Ellen still live a fulfilled married life, saying she has never been “happier.”

Oprah Winfrey:

The American host and television producer revealed that her philanthropy fulfills the nurturing role, so she never felt the need to have children of her own.

In a 2017 interview with Good Housekeeping U.K., Oprah explained that running her Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa was a "perfect" fit since she "didn't want babies."

"I have 172 girls, and 20 are in college in the United States and use my home as their home base," she said.

The Beloved actress added, "It is more rewarding than I would ever have imagined. I was doing this to help them, but it has brought a light to my life that I can't explain ... When people were pressuring me to get married and have children, I knew I was not going to be a person that ever regretted not having them, because I feel like I am a mother to the world's children.”

“Love knows no boundaries. It doesn't matter if a child came from your womb or if you found that person at age two, 10 or 20. If the love is real, the caring is pure and it comes from a good space, it works,” Oprah concluded.

The Mad Max: Fury Road actress revealed in the March 2022 issue of Elle that she doesn't feel pressured about having children at all.

"I don't feel pressured to have kids by a certain time, if I ever have kids...I still want to go on adventures, have fun nights, and see the sunrise. It's been an interesting journey of remembering that there's no finish line that I have to get to by a certain time,” Zoë said.

She added, “Playful, mischievous behavior is something I always hope to have, even when I'm 70 years old. The point of being alive is to experience life and play with it. There's still so much fun to be had."

Sarah Paulson:

Last but not least, the Ratched actress has openly discussed her choice to remain childfree, citing that she feels she’s too “selfish” to be a mother and prefers to focus on her demanding career.

In a 2018 interview with Town & Country, Sarah explained why she doesn't feel like having kids.

"I don’t want to be torn. I don’t want to look at my child and say, 'You’re the most extraordinary thing that ever happened to me, but also the death knell,” she said.

The Ocean’s 8 actress went on to say, “It was hard for my mother to be everywhere, to come to the school play and make a living.”

Sarah concluded,” I’ve always known what I wanted out of my professional life, and I didn’t want to turn around and go, 'If I had only made the choice to just dedicate this time in my life to me.' It’s selfish, but I think the word selfish gets a bad rap."
