Many Hollywood celebrities use their fame, wealth and influence to give back to their communities and support various causes around the world.
These celebrity philanthropists are involved in a wide range of charitable activities from donating to well known organizations and causes to starting their own foundations.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has donated to lots of good causes and helped out her fans during her career.
Some of her donations include $1 million to people affected by the Louisiana floods in 2016, $100,000 to research for cancer, and $60,000 to help music departments at six colleges in the U.S.
Before that the Blank Space hitmaker decided to give all the money made from her Wildest Dream music video to the African Parks Foundation of America. The video has been viewed 938 million times so that was a big donation.
During the COVID 19 pandemic, the Grammy winner donated to the World Health Organization and Feeding Africa.
She also gave her signed guitars to be sold to raise money for the National Health Service.
Taylor Swift also donated $1 million in late 2023 to help people in Tennessee, the state where she grew up after natural disasters happened there.
Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has been working to help refugees since 2001. Because of this work she was made a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and for this role the actress has gone on about 60 trips to help refugees in different places.
The Maria star also started the Jolie-Pitt Foundation with her ex-husband to help with humanitarian causes around the world. The Original Sin actress also helped start schools for girls in Kenya and eastern Afghanistan.
Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has been famous since her Hannah Montana days. Even though the Wrecking Ball singer has changed a lot since then people still think she is one of the young celebrities in Hollywood who does a lot of good things.
The Angels Like You hitmaker started the Happy Hippy Foundation in 2014 to help homeless kids, LGBTQ kids and other people who need help at the 2015 amfAR gala as she sold off three paintings Miley made based on Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover, raising 69,000.
She also did something funny at the 2015 Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Center’s Vanguard Awards gala as Miley licked a piano onstage during an auction and it sold for $50,000.
Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep is considered one of the best actresses of her time, winning lots of awards in her career including a record 21 nominations for the Academy Awards.
Besides doing great work in movies the Mamma Mia star also helps out with charities and supports the arts.
Meryl keeps a low profile about her charity work but it is known that she has given $4 million through the silver Mountain Foundation for the Arts.

Emma Watson has become a big supporter of women’s rights around the world and she has been raising her voice for women since the actress became famous aftrer her stellar performances in Harry Potter movies.
