One thing is for sure that being a child star- especially on Disney, is no easy feat.

While it might look like a dream from the outside, it comes up with a long list of strict rules and expectations that must be followed.

Miley Cyrus:

The Wrecking Ball songstress had a really “grueling” work schedule while filming her hit Disney show Hannah Montana, which aired for four seasons from March 24, 2006 to January 16, 2011.

In her Used to Be Young video series, Miley opened up about what she had to endure as a young teen to fulfill her duties of being a popular Disney star.

“5:30 a.m.?!I’m probably 12 or 13. Friday, January 5, 5:30 a.m. — Hair and Makeup in my hotel. 7 a.m. — we get picked up. 7:15 a.m. — I’m on the news. 7:45 — I have another live interview. 8:15 — another interview. 8:45 — another interview. 9:30 to 11 a.m. — meeting with editors, back to the hotel,” she explained describing her jam-packed and exhausting routine.

The Flowers hitmaker continued, “OK, I have to do an interview but the reporters are all fifth-grade students.”

Miley further shared, “1 to 2:30 — me and my dad have a lunch interview. 2:40 — we have to go to the Life magazine photoshoot. 3 to 5 — interview and photoshoot for the Father’s Day issue. Arrive at 6 p.m. for kids online interview then at 6:15 we have another interview.

“Then the next day starts at 7 a.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. when I fly home to probably go to Hannah [Montana] — that’s on a Saturday and then Monday be back at work in the morning.”

Reflecting on the experience, the Party in the U.S.A. singer said that although the schedule was overwhelming, one thing is certain that she isn’t “lazy.”

The Shake It Up alum revealed that she was almost fired for wearing a bikini to a beach when she was 14 years old.

A photograph of Bella in the swimsuit went viral, and she shared that someone from Disney immediately contacted her, saying, “Everyone’s getting heat for this because you’re in a bikini on a beach, so she needs to make sure she goes out in boy shorts and a loose T-shirt next time she’s at the beach."

Vanessa Hudgens:

The American actress and singer nude photos were leaked on the internet while she was starring for the hit Disney movie, High School Musical at the time.

Soon after the images started to gain attention, Disney reportedly coerced Vanessa inti apologising in order to protect and maintain her child star image.

“It was really f***** up,” she said, reflecting on the incident in 2020.

She noted that people were pointing fingers at her instead of holding those accountable who leaked the photos.

Demi Lovato:

The Sonny with a Chance alum revealed that Disney warned her to open up about her eating disorder and addiction, as that could potentially mark the conclusion of her career with the company.

“I came out of the experience with the choice of talking about my struggles or my journey with the possibility of helping people, or keeping my mouth shut and going back to Disney Channel,” Demi said.

She added, “And I was like, that doesn't feel authentic to me. So I chose to tell my story."

It is worth noting that the Heart Attack hitmaker spoke up about her struggles in 2010.

Joe Jonas:

Last but not least, the Cake by the Ocean crooner revealed that when he starred in Jonas, he was obliged by Disney to “shave every day because they wanted[him] to pretend” that he still was 16 years old-when in reality he was 20.

Once the show ended, he felt liberated and cut off all his hair and grew a beard.
