The royal children seem to enjoy a lavish lifestyle—heaps of high-end gifts, sprawling castles, and jewels of the crown. However, a closer look reveals a different tale, full of tradition and secrecy that forms their childhood.

Restrained and Structured Life

Protocol begins with royal etiquette. Each child’s regal reception and manners, dining etiquette, and public lifestyle are programmed to rigid standards by The Royal Household. Waving to the audience, a standard royal greeting, is practiced.

Lessons in Shadows

As royal historians have put it, the foundational stages of a royal child’s education begins and remains primarily in the palace. The former queen, for example, received a private tutoring in constitutional history and law in preparation for her roles, and is now the face of Britain.

Modern representatives of the royal family, like Prince George and Princess Charlotte, are aligned to more traditional private schools, but are taught history, diplomacy and multiple languages during the core of the curriculum.

Finding Balance Between Normalcy and Responsibility

According to royal reporters, they are doing everything they can to ensure their children have as normal a childhood as possible.

The school drop-offs, playdates, and family outings no longer are a part of royal life and are a first in generations. However, the warm reminder of duty is always praised and very much present, no matter the always-changing circumstances.
