As Prince Harry marks his 41st birthday on September 15, what better time to take a trip down memory lane and recall the significant moments of the prince’s life?

Take a look:

1. Public debut

The Duke of Sussex was introduced to the world at just 24 hours old. 

On September 15, 1984, the yet-to-be-named baby prince left St. Mary’s Hospital with his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

2. Royal tradition

Prince Harry was just 9 months old when he made his first appearance at Trooping the Colour, one of the most integral dates in the royal calendar.

3. School

Three days before his fifth birthday, Harry started to accompany his elder brother William at Wetherby School near Kensington Palace.

To note, Harry started a week late because he had been sick with stomach flu.

4. Diana’s tragic death

This was one of the soul-shattering moments in Prince Harry’s life, when he lost his mother at the the tender age of 12.

5. Turning 18

When Harry turned 18 in 2002, as he was preparing to leave school, he began attending official engagements to determine which charities he would like to support.

He also gave his first official interview, where he shared his desire to carry on his mother’s legacy.

“She had more guts than anyone else. I want to carry on the things that she didn't quite finish. I have always wanted to, but I was too young,” Harry said.

6. First major love

When Harry was in Africa on his gap year, he began a romantic relationship with Zimbabwean student Chelsy Davy.

She was the first girl Harry laid eyes on, and they were together on and off for seven years.

7. Independent work

When Prince Harry turned 27, he officially started up his own office rather than operating under his father’s.

Together with his older brother, they set up their own charity with the intention of supporting the underprivileged at home and overseas.

8. Best man

Harry served as the best man at Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011.

9. Humanitarian award

Harry received a humanitarian award in 2012 from former Secretary of State Colin Powell for his unwavering support of wounded veterans.

10. Tying the knot

The Duke of Sussex tied the knot with his girlfriend of almost two years, Meghan Markle, on May 19, 2018, later welcoming two children.
