It’s been 28 years since the tragic passing of Princess Diana yet Hollywood’s fascination with the late Princess of Wales is still evident.

Here is a look at list of five movies featuring life of late Princess Diana:

1. Charles & Diana: Unhappily Ever After (1992)

A dramatic movie tells the real-life story of the failed marriage of Charles, Prince of Wales, and his first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales.

It focuses on the end of the couple’s marriage, and coincided with the speculation, scrutiny, and scandal that loomed over their respective lives.

Diana’s role was played by Catherine Oxenberg and Roger Rees played the role of Charles.

2. Diana: Her True Story (1993)

The 1993 movie is based on the book of the same name as Andrew Morton; and followed her life behind the scenes like her battle with depression.

It stars Serena Scott Thomas as Diana.

3. Princess In Love (1996)

The TV movie adaptation is based on the 1995 book of the same name by Anna Pasternak.

It focused on Diana’s affair with a former riding instructor.

Julie Cox played the role of Diana in the movie.

4. Spencer (2021)

The latest iteration of Princess Diana’s story starred Kristen Stewart.

The movie showcased the life of Diana spending an arduous three days with the royal family during the Christmas holidays.

It’s during these three days that Diana realizes she can no longer remain married to Prince Charles, and sets on a new path.

The film earned Stewart her first-ever Oscar for her performance.

5. Diana: The Musical (2021)

Diana: The Musical streamed on Netflix and was based on the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, starring Jeanna de Waal as Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles, and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.

Netflix’s description about the film says, “The dazzling and devastating life of Princess Diana takes center stage in this original musical, filmed in advance of its official Broadway opening.”
