Did you know even celebrities are diagnosed with autism?

Well, autism is not an illness, but it means that the autistic person’s brain works in a different way from other people and celebrities such as Anthony Hopkins and Elon Musk have it.

Here’s a list of five celebrities who identify as autistic or have autism:

1. Anthony Hopkins

Hopkins was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in his 70s.

The Locked actor described the diagnosis as a relief, providing a framework for understanding his past feelings of insecurity and the habits he developed.

2. Courtney Love

The singer and actress has admitted her journey with Autism, revealing that she was diagnosed with autism as a child.

Love spoke about her early diagnosis in a 1994 Rolling Stone interview, noting her struggles with social and academic challenges in school.

3. Dan Aykroyd

The Ghostbusters actor has openly stated he has Asperger's Syndrome, which is a form of autism spectrum disorder.

The Academy Award-nominated actor had already been expelled from two different schools by the time a doctor diagnosed him with mild Asperger’s as a child.

Since then, Aykroyd has even spoken to great extent about how his experiences with autism contributed to his character in Ghostbusters.

4. Daryl Hannah

Hannah is autistic and was diagnosed as a child with Asperger's syndrome and has spoken openly about her struggles with intense shyness, sensory issues, and social challenges due to her condition.

The Kill Bill actress has become an advocate for autism awareness, demonstrating that individuals on the spectrum can achieve success.

5. Grimes

The Canadian singer announced in March 2025 that she had been diagnosed with both autism and ADHD.

In her post on X, the singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, wrote, “I feel like, had we known this when I was a child I would have worked so much less hard, been on drugs, and so many of the weird obsessions and motivations I had would have been seen as pathological and I could have written off certain things that were very hard for me, but I'm glad I overcame them.”
