Among the Royal Family, the centre of the most discussions and the most gossip has always been Prince Harry. People have been pondering since the start of the 2020 pandemic about the possibility of him resuming public duties when he moved to the USA with his wife, Meghan Markle.
There have been recent reports, however, that circulate within the Royal Family that indicate the Duke of Sussex is contemplating how he could regain his standing and reestablish his influence over the country, even if in a covert manner, over the country.
The changing identity of a Prince
Harry's self-imposed exile from the rest of the Royal Family sent dowagers of the crown skirmishing and battling the winds. Candid conversations, uproariously revealing memoirs, and even impulsive documentaries have put him in the pleading light of the public and have, however, worsened the rift with the rest of the Royal Family.
No matter how beleaguered the situation, there is little argument Harry's ultimate goal has become a part of Britain, and a substantial one at that. This is not his only motivation for reestablishing connections with Britain.
Attitude towards Harry
As polarizing as he may be, Harry has retained a core support base even in the U.K. The strong support comes from the advocacy he has undertaken as a mental health champion, the altruism of the Invictus Games foundation, and Harry's forthrightness.
Some royal observers suggest that a strategic re-introduction to public service could be instrumental in re-building a more cohesive reputation and defining Harry's public persona outside the “Megxit” drama.
Challenges ahead
It will not be easy to regain his position, however. Relationships in the royal family are still not good, and the masses are very divided.
There are opinions, in which he is regarded as a disloyal prince, and there are opinions, according to which he is a modernizer, who is dissatisfied with the old traditions. Any coming back should strike a balance between his freedom in the United States of America and the duty of royal influence in Britain.
A possible new chapter
Even though Harry will probably become a member of Britain again or create a new hybrid identity, his path is not yet exhausted.
What is definite is that Prince Harry is still on the list of the world to watch, whether as a royal rebel, a philanthropist or perhaps one day, he will be back on the list as a key player in the heart of Britain.
