Love is officially on holiday — Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s marriage is no more.

While the news initially broke through TMZ, who confirmed that the couple has been separated “since the beginning of summer”, Nicole and Keith have yet to acknowledge the report.

That did not stop the rumour mill from swirling however and a few details regarding the unofficial break up, plus signs from the past which may have indicated it, have already begun circulating.

In a twist which no one saw coming, the separation has not been amicable — apparently, Nicole never wanted to part ways and tried her best to save the marriage for a long time.

“She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage,” an insider shared with PEOPLE.

Meanwhile, Keith has moved out of the home he shared with the Australian actress and their two daughters, with TMZ also reporting that the country singer-songwriter “has acquired his own residence in Nashville”.

Social Media Snub

Since the separation, it has been noted that while the Moulin Rouge! actress wished her husband a happy wedding anniversary via her Instagram this year, the Grammy winning musician skipped a similar public acknowledgement.

The Oscar winner shared an anniversary post for the couple’s 19th on June 26, with the caption, “Happy Anniversary Baby”.

On his part, Keith merely responded with a simple red heart emoji.

While News.com.au has now reported, “Tellingly, there was no corresponding anniversary post from Urban on his social media account. The day before their anniversary, he’d shared a slideshow of photos of himself on stage during his tour. The day after the marriage milestone, he posted a video of himself performing at the Country Music Awards.”

Between Nicole appearing in and further undertaking a plethora of screen projects and Keith often hitting the road touring his albums, is it possible that the couple may have just grown apart due to their respective work obligations?
