The second week of Dancing with the Stars brought a lively theme, One-Hit Wonders Night. Contestants performed dances to famous tracks from artists who had one major hit.
The pressure was high, as the scores from the first week were combined with this week’s numbers. To make things even more intense, a double elimination was announced, meaning two couples would leave at the end of the night.
Memorable performances
The evening featured energetic and emotional performances across different dance styles as Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa impressed the judges with a jive to Maniac, scoring 22 out of 30. Robert Irwin and Witney Carson matched that with a sharp tango to Move Your Feet, also earning 22 points.
Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas performed a fiery cha-cha to Play That Funky Music, which Bruno described as, “That was a killer cha-cha. It was so hot I was melting.”
Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy’s jive to Mambo No. 5 earned praise from the judges and Derek called them a “powerhouse” while Bruno summed it up as a “Breakthrough.”
Other highlights included Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov’s cha-cha to Rhythm of the Night scoring 19/30, Andy Richter and Emma Slater’s tango to It’s Raining Men earning 16 points, and Baron Davis and Britt Stewart’s samba to Return of the Mack with 18 points.
Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson ended the night with a cha-cha to Baby Got Back, receiving 15 points, as Bruno called it “technically unique and unforgettable.”
By the end of the night, the top scorers were Robert Irwin & Witney Carson and Whitney Leavitt & Mark Ballas, both leading with 37 points when combining week one and week two totals.
Double elimination shock
As results were revealed, tension filled the ballroom. The bottom three couples were announced, and finally, Baron Davis & Britt Stewart and Corey Feldman & Jenna Johnson were eliminated. Hilaria Baldwin & Gleb Savchenko, also in the danger zone, were declared safe.
Corey Feldman expressed regret after leaving, saying, “I feel really terrible because she deserved better. She deserves to be the champ every year in my book.”
Baron Davis also shared his feelings, saying, “I wanted to win for my dance partner, Stewart.”
With two couples gone, the competition tightens as the remaining stars prepare to deliver even stronger performances in the coming weeks.
