Meghan Markle has officially made her Paris Fashion Week debut on October 4. As The Duchess of Sussex stepped into the spotlight with her modern style, she was quick to become the center of everyone’s attention.

Here are some of the highlights from her appearance:

1. Meghan’s Paris Fashion Week debut

Meghan Markle attended the Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week, marking her very first appearance at the prestigious event.

The Duchess wore a simple yet elegant white oversized cape layered over a matching button down shirt and pants, paired with black pointed toe heels.

To complete her look she styled it with a sleek bun, showing effortless elegance.

2. Supporting a longtime friend and designer

Meghan’s spokesperson told PEOPLE that she attended the show in support of Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently became the Creative Director at Balenciaga.

“Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo. They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage,” the spokesperson shared.

The representative added, “She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different. This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga.”

3. Her Signature ‘High-Low’ Fashion Philosophy

In her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, the Duchess described her personal style as a blend of luxury and accessibility.

“I like a balance of high-low,” she told guest Mindy Kaling, wearing a combination of Zara pants, a Loro Piana shirt, and a Jenni Kayne sweater.

4. Next stop: New York City for a humanitarian honour

Following her fashion moment in Paris, Meghan and Prince Harry will head to New York City to accept Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the Year Award at the World Mental Health Day Gala on October 9.

In a joint statement, the couple said, “Working with families and young people to prioritize safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives... We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds.”

Before returning home to California, they will also attend the nonprofit’s World Mental Health Day Festival on October 10.
