Elon Musk takes another jab at Microsoft with ‘Macrohard’ joke
Elon Musk has once again taken aim at Microsoft

Elon Musk has once again taken aim at Microsoft, and he’s doing it in classic Musk fashion: through a cheeky post on his social platform X (formerly Twitter).
Responding to a user’s comment, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO wrote, “Macrohard is a much stronger AI equivalent of that other software company!”
Although he didn’t directly name Microsoft, the reference was unmistakable.
The jab comes shortly after Musk unveiled Macrohard, a new AI-driven software venture meant to rival Microsoft’s dominance in the tech industry.
This isn’t Musk’s first dig at Bill Gates or his company. Over the years, he has repeatedly mocked Microsoft on social media, even once tweeting “Macrohard > Microsoft”, suggesting his new venture would outperform the tech giant.
For those unversed, launched by Musk’s xAI in August 2025, Macrohard may sound like a tongue-in-cheek parody, but the project carries ambitious goals.
It aims to create a multi-agent AI system where numerous intelligent agents collaborate to perform every function typically handled by human employees at a software company.
The idea stems from Musk’s belief that since firms like Microsoft primarily develop software, their operations can be fully replicated and optimised by artificial intelligence.
