Bad Bunny claps back at Super Bowl critics in hilarious ‘SNL’ monologue
Bad Bunny addresses Super Bowl backlash and ICE threats on ‘SNL’

Bad Bunny has finally responded to the severe backlash he received from critics over his forthcoming 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance.
The MONACO rapper kicked off Season 5 of Saturday Night Live with full energy, humour, and charisma, delivering a witty monologue that addressed both his upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance and the right-wing criticism surrounding it.
“I’m very happy. And I think everyone is happy about it. Even Fox News,” he said with a grin.
Shortly after Bad Bunny’s joke, a hilarious video montage captured everyone’s attention, featuring a mash-up of Fox News clips with anchors like Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity edited to say, ”Bad Bunny is my favourite musician, and he should be the next president.”
For those unversed, the sketch was a direct response to the growing backlash over the Puerto Rican rapper’s upcoming Super Bowl slot.
The controversy included a recent comment from a former Donald Trump administration security official, who suggested that ICE (U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents would be posted outside his halftime show, a remark widely viewed as racially insensitive.
Later in his monologue, the 31-year-old artist made heartfelt comments in his native language.
“Especially all of the Latinos and Latinas in the world here in the United States who have worked to open doors,” he said.
Towards the end, the Me porto bonito rapper expressed his gratitude to those who are excited for his Super Bowl performance.
“It’s more than a win for myself, it’s a win for all of us. Our footprints and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take that away or erase it,” Bad Bunny concluded.
